Traditional Music Resource Center, Inc. d/b/a Woop FM 99.9 (100 watt LP station)
is a Tennessee not for profit corporation, tax exempt under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
WOOP is Cleveland's only NON-COMMERCIAL community radio controlled by the board of directors below. The LP after our name means LOW POWER.WOOP's 100 watt power only covers most of bradley County. With a transmitter located on the Hill of the Holiday Inn our signal is strong in town but may be spotty in parts of Bradley County. We use volunteer video disc jockies. Our purpose is not to make money as commercial stations, but to make Cleveland a better place to live by bringing common sense issue to our listeners. We don't care if you like us or hate us but please listen to us.
Other local stations are commercial and are either 6000, 25,000, 50,000 or 100,000 watts. As for power, we don't stack up to well but for content and wit we blow all of them away.
We would appreciate your help by becoming a sponsor by emailing. Sponsor@woopfm.com

Jeff Rentfro |
Jeff was born and raised in Cleveland, TN. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1978 and The University of Tennessee (Knoxville) in 1983. The fact that he was named "Wittiest" his Senior year at CHS just exemplifies his perpetual class clown status ("minus the class!")and on-going incompetent mindless banter that makes him a perfect fit as the afternoon Drive Time VDJ here on WOOP. He has always been involved in the entertainment industry on a local level with several stints on local radio and television programs. Jeff owns a local collection agency (Financial Recovery Organization; FRO) and is about to celebrate it's 10 year anniversary. Jeff enjoys boating at Island Cove Marina and has a serious musical hobby including local long time party band Convertibull. He has been actively involved with the local marketing for WOOP since coming on board as "FROdaddy" the VDJ in October of 2008. His dad was Lawrence Rentfro, a long time auto dealer in Cleveland, and mom Louise is very active as Matriarch of the clan, and is known to call her son almost daily with bits of wit and wisdom as "FROmama". |
Doug Mizzell |
