A) Bring back the Valedictorian at Cleveland High

Cleveland High has a rich tradition of graduates since 1967 and has had a valedictorian. Sometime in the mid to late 80's for reason's we can find out someone somehow for no apparent good reason dropped the valedictorian and now have 20 or so Raider Scholars Bradley has had a Valedictorian and Salutatorian since 1917 and Walker Valley has had the same since they began. When Dr. Denning went live on the air with WOOP he claimed Cleveland High school "has never had a Valedictorian" and we are asking him to break Tradition by naming one. He also stated there is no way to name one since CHS has about 20 with same grade point record average. WOOP attempted to convince him he was wrong and he needs to just check the older annuals but he refused.  WOOP responded by having Mr. Ray Kimsey, CHS class of 1969 called in from atlanta. Ray told all the woopsters how important naming a Valedictorian was to him claiming he got into Yale because of being the CHS Valedictorian Ray said today he is President of the largest architect firm in Atlanta today. Ray was also a member of the 1969 State championship football team.

Each Spring the Cleveland Daily Banner list all the areas Valedictorian and salutatorians. Cleveland High just submits a group picture of their "raider scholars". WOOP believes Dr. Denning is doing a disservice to the two highest grade point students who are missing out on scholarships and other accolades and if he can't pick the two top CHS students he should let Bradley help him since they have been able to do it since 1917!

Should Cleveland High School have a valedictorian and salutatorian?

B) Synchronizing the traffic lights down Keith Street to the Speed limit

Anyone that has driven from The Village Green to Walmart at Paul Huff has experienced the constant start-stop start-stop. At "Mal-Function Junction" right there before Walmart many times your light is green but you cant move because the next light is red and the cars ahead of you can't move.  The 3 stooges could have done a better job of timing the lights!

Synchronizing the lights means if you have a red light at the Village Green and it turns green, you simply do a average acceleration to 45mph and hold that speed .....you will get green lights all the way to the Cleveland Golf and country club. WOOP believes this will greatly move traffic quicker North to south and south to north, relieve much of the traffic that now goes to Ocoee street to avoid the crazy 3 stoogies style of traffic light timing at exist on Keith street now.

How do you feel?

Should Janice Casteel Synchronize the lights on Keith Street at 45mph ( and hang a sign under each light to tell you "Our lights are Synched at 45mph)?

D) Should Dr. Denning have been given a raise 4% raise?

The City of Cleveland has about 300 employees and the school board employs about 500, making a total of 800.  Of those 800 city employees, only ONE got a raise this year. That was the head guy himself, Superintendent Dr. Rick Denning!   The Cleveland City Council was so concerned that it passed a unanimous resolution asking the school board to rescind the raise.  City school board chairwoman Peggy Pesterfield responded in a letter to the city saying.. "the raise for Dr. Denning was justified because it helped the students, the teachers (WHO GOT NOTHING) and Dr. Denning make a much higher retirement pay."  All of this was done when the state, cities and companies across the country are cutting back, laying off and even reducing pay.

SHOULD DR. RICK DENNING HAVE BEEN GIVEN A 4% RAISE?
